Medusa is a Greek goddess. She was once a beautiful maiden with long golden hair. She made a vow of celibacy as a priestess of Athena until she fell in love with Poseidon. She went against her vow and married him. Athena punished her with a curse to make her hideous. She is one of the Three Gorgon Sisters in Greek mythology, and the only mortal of the three. To look upon her will turn you to stone as the mythology stories tell us.
